Corning revenue hike attributed to Optical Communication Division

Cornins Optical communication division encompasses both their Enterprise and Carrier groups. Strong revenue gain of 9.5% saw the division expected to hit a turnover of $4.5 billion.

This is no doubt assisted by CenturyLink continuing to expand their fibre network ambitions, aiming for a staggering increase of 4.7 million miles of fibre, with connections of up to 50 cities in the US underway before focus shifts to their assetts in Europe.

Casble types appear to be the SMF-28 ULL and Ultra fibres, which makes sense from Centurylink's ultra low loss market strategy.
